Rochdale Development Agency is inviting advanced materials businesses from across Greater Manchester to witness the latest innovations and technologies in their sector up close at a CEAMS Demo Day.

Hosted at Rochdale Town Hall on Thursday 2nd May between 1pm and 4pm, the event will bring together industry experts from the region’s advanced materials business community.

The day will showcase cutting-edge technology, and include inspiring pitches and groundbreaking demos. It will also provide an opportunity to mingle and network with industry experts, investors, and fellow tech enthusiasts.

The Centre of Expertise in Advanced Materials and Sustainability (CEAMS) is a collaboration between key partners to help and support businesses to commercialise a sustainable material and develop innovative ideas to make the materials they use sustainable.

As part of Atom Valley CEAMS works as a bridge between academic research expertise, commercial exploitation and scale-up potential. The centre aims to help companies to overcome problems, invent new processes, adopt new materials and re-use existing materials in order to work more efficiently and sustainably.

The Centre has been developed as part of Greater Manchester’s Innovation Accelerator programme in collaboration with Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Innovate UK and The Department for Science Innovation and Technology.

Current project partners at CEAMS include Rochdale Development Agency, The University of Manchester, Henry Royce Institute, Catapult High Value Manufacturing, CPI, Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), National Composites Centre, The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).

By creating better, more efficient products, businesses across Greater Manchester can become more efficient, increase turnover and employment opportunities. CEAMS makes it simple for businesses to access world class expertise and accelerate innovation. It provides access to a community of advanced sustainable materials businesses.
