Health Innovation Manchester (HInM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana in India, one of Asia’s leading life science hubs.

The MoU was signed on Tuesday, 25 February in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, at BioAsia, an internationally renowned life science and health-tech event. It represents a joint commitment to foster economic growth and innovation to address shared healthcare challenges.

By strengthening ties, both regions aim to fulfil their longer-term ambitions of developing cutting-edge products, treatments, diagnostics, medtech solutions, and digital tools to enhance the experience and outcomes of patients.

This new alliance will strengthen bilateral ties and put in place a framework to foster healthcare innovation and mobilise a pipeline of new innovations. It will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and resources, creating an opportunity to harness research and data analysis capabilities that could support life-changing clinical trials and real-world studies.

Telangana is at the forefront of innovation, creating an environment where research and development centres, manufacturers, training institutions and testing laboratories can all flourish. It hosts over 100 pharmaceutical and biotech companies, including 4 of the top global pharmaceutical firms and over 20 life science and MedTech incubators and is home to Technology Hub (T-Hub) the world’s largest innovation ecosystem under one roof. under one roof.

This agreement is HInM’s first formal international partnership with an overseas government state. It aligns to a broader strategy led by HInM and MIDAS, (Greater Manchester’s inward investment agency) to position Greater Manchester as a global learning market capable of implementing novel innovations across a large population and attracting economic growth.
