A new innovative programme designed to help businesses unlock and develop their creative potential has launched in Greater Manchester with help from Department for Digital Culture Media and Sport (DCMS), The Growth Company and Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
The programme which will be delivered across Greater Manchester by GC Business Growth Hub, aims to empower creative businesses and boost one of the region’s key sectors.
Through a two-day cohort programme peer-learning opportunity with masterclasses, coaching sessions and 1-1 mentoring, Creative Growth is designed to improve the leadership of creative scale-ups so that they are better placed to become investment ready.
With a buzzing community of creative businesses, the Greater Manchester region boasts one of the country’s leading creative forces and contributes an estimated gross value added (GVA) revenue impact of £1.4bn to the UK economy from culture and creative industries.
The Create Growth Programme is fully funded by the Department for Digital Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) and has been created to further develop what is already a thriving industry, helping creative organisations based in the Greater Manchester region attract investment to grow their business sustainably.
Create Growth is open to a variety of Greater Manchester region businesses operating in the creative industry, including, but not limited to:
- Film, tv, video and radio
- Performing arts, music, and visual art
- Publishing
- Art and design
- Advertising and Marketing
- Architecture
- Crafts design and designer fashion
- Gaming
- Museums, galleries and libraries
- Photography
Successful applicants will receive free business support tailored to the specific needs of high-growth potential creative businesses.
A key aspect of this programme is community. GC Business Growth Hub understands that creativity can be a solitary pursuit but believes that by connecting with like-minded individuals, the industry can support each other and inspire one another to greater heights. To that end, the programme includes group workshops and peer-to-peer coaching sessions that will help you build a network of creative allies.
GC Business Growth Hub’s aim throughout the programme is that participants will be encouraged to set goals and track their progress, so they can see the tangible results of their efforts. By the end of the programme, these businesses will have developed new skills, gained confidence in their creativity and will have forged meaningful connections with other creatives. You will also have a personalised plan to continue nurturing your creativity long after the programme ends.
