Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), on behalf of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, is asking residents, businesses and other stakeholders for their views on a 2040 vision for transport in the city-region as part of a public consultation running for 12 weeks throughout the summer.
The vision describes why and how Greater Manchester’s transport system needs to evolve over the next 25 years in order to meet the needs of a growing city region, and in response to technological and demographic changes ahead. All types of travel, from accessing global markets to transport’s role in improving local neighbourhoods, are considered, as is the context of a wider social, economic and environmental programme across the city region and beyond.
