On August 4, 2017, the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) announced a £15m capital fund, “The Northern Cultural Regeneration Fund” to help towns and cities in the North ‘build a lasting regional legacy from the Great Exhibition of the North’.
All eleven Northern Local Enterprise Partnerships are eligible to submit one application of up to £4m each. GMCA and the Greater Manchester LEP are looking for projects, from across Greater Manchester, to develop for submission to the fund.
If you have a project you think would be suitable for submission to DCMS please read the fund guidance, complete the Strategic Outline Case application and email to marie-claire.daly@greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk by 5pm, 29th September 2017. The GMLEP and Greater Manchester Combined Authority will consider submissions from a single local authority area or from a number of authorities working together, though DCMS has indicated that there should be a compelling reason for investment in more than one place.
Following the selection of the prioritised bid by the LEP, the applicant will be supported by local authority and GMCA staff to build a business case that will submission to DCMS by the GMLEP ahead of the deadline of 30th November 2017.
For further details, application form and project timelines go to GMCA.
